About Our Volunteers

Megan Wells, ABCDT

Megan Wells, the founder of Sunshine PAWS, is a certified dog trainer and animal behaviorist with a strong desire to properly match the lifestyle and expectations of our adopting families with each homeless dog's lifestyle. Megan is married to a very understanding husband.  They live with their 15 year old son and 4 personal dogs.

"Over the past few years I have had the pleasure of having over 100 fosters in my home.  I always have a foster -- or two -- or three -- and have had several litters of puppies.  I have also counseled many foster parents."

"It is our hope that your new pooch will be the perfect match for your home!"

Linda Armstrong

Linda is a life-long resident of Northwest Indiana.  She became involved in the world of RESCUE when she adopted Cappi (shown here) in the Summer of 2012. While Cappi's history is not known ... he has a very bright future.  Since coming into the Armstrong home, Cappi has passed his CGC test and is currently training for therapy work.

Linda's background is in business marketing and advertising.  After spending 6 years in the manufacturing industry and 23 years in retail industry, she is now working in the world of nonprofits.   She currently serves on the board of directors for the Crown Point Community Foundation and is assisting Sunshine PAWS with marketing services as one of her favorite new nonprofit operations!

Steph Parker

Steph and her husband, Dan are shown here with Zoey.  Steph and Dan joined the Sunshine PAWS family as "Zoey's Foster Angels", after learning that Zoey was critically ill.  They lovingly cared for her throughout her therapy for renal failure and provided Zoey with lots of love in her final days.

Previous experience with their owned rescued dogs (they now have three wiener dogs) prepared them to help in a very unique way with our special needs dogs.

We are extremely grateful for all the amazing care they provide our special animals.  Steph's SUNSHINY smile is such a calming and uplifting influence.  Thanks to you both for sharing your great spirit with us!

Sue Markle

Sue is one remarkable foster mom!  She began volunteering with Sunshine PAWS when sweet little Bindi was in need of a home (while she recuperated from her leg surgery), and now has a great career going.  The photo above is a picture taken with Oakley.

Sue decide to become a foster when she found the Sunshine PAWS website and realized how much she could help these poor dogs that have been thrown into shelters - for no other reason than being lost or negleted by their owners. These dogs have so much love that they want to give and Sue wanted to give them that second chance that they so much deserve.

"All the love I get from these dogs touches my heart and soul and that's the joy fostering can bring to you".

Thank you for all you do, Sue!

Sharalynne Pasztor

Sharalynne is an incredible foster momma, specializing in newborn puppies!  We are always amazed at your talents, and are so grateful for your contributions!

JoAnn Gibbons

JoAnn and her family have been amazing volunteers - always willing to help with events in countless ways - and wearing those wonderfully sunshiny smiles!  Thanks for all you do :)
